Advancing research discovery into treatments for a disease isn’t a quick or easy process. On average, it takes 13 years and more than $1 billion to develop just one drug.
The PKD Foundation is helping speed up drug development for PKD by identifying and tackling possible roadblocks along the therapeutic development pipeline. By sharing in the financial risk with academic, pharmaceutical and biotech partners, we hope to move PKD research into clinics … and, eventually, the hands of patients worldwide.
Our approach isn’t new. Several other successful disease organizations have paved the way in expediting drug development. Following their lead, we’re investing significantly in promising PKD therapeutic research to reduce the financial risk for industry partners.
Our efforts include:
- Creating an unprecedented registry of PKD patients and their medical information
- Continuing partnerships with the FDA and others
- Growing and strengthening our existing programs of education, advocacy, support and awareness
You can be a part of this incredible opportunity to advance PKD research into PKD treatments.
If we don’t do it, no one will.
