Through the matching gifts program, John Tuohy was able to raise more than $7,500 for the PKD Foundation.
Like many PKD Foundation supporters, John Tuohy always wants his contributions to go further. So three years ago when he began fundraising for the San Francisco Walk for PKD, he took full advantage of his company's employee matching gift program – doubling the amount of his fundraising efforts.
"It just makes sense, and it’s easy to do," says John. "The matching gifts program is a great benefit if your company offers it."
Many companies – like John's – offer matching gift programs that will double, or even triple, charitable contributions made by their employees.
To maximize his gift, John also asked his coworkers to donate and take part. Through his company's program, John was able to raise more than $7,500 for the PKD Foundation.
"This is how I wanted to give back to the Foundation," says John. "As a PKD patient, I have a vested interest to help find treatments and a cure for PKD."
Like John, you too can increase the impact of your gift to the PKD Foundation. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please enter your employer's name below.
