The 2020 PKD Connect Conference is a biennial gathering of PKD patients, caregivers, parents, researchers, and health care professionals. Attendees will learn about the latest developments in PKD research, connect with others in the PKD community, and have a chance to meet the researchers and physicians dedicated to finding new treatments and eventually a cure for PKD.

Why should I attend the 2020 PKD Connect Conference?

The 2020 PKD Connect Conference is the place to be if you want to learn how to best manage PKD from experts in the field. You will also have the opportunity to connect with others who have PKD in a supportive, informative, and inspiring environment.

Is financial aid available for PKD patients who want to attend?

The PKD Foundation has limited financial assistance available for the 2020 PKD Connect Conference. The deadline to apply is February 28, 2020. The selected individuals will be notified by March 12, 2020. Please submit the financial aid application. 

What if I register and can’t go? Can I send a substitute in my place?

The 2020 PKD Connect Conference registration fee is non-refundable but it can be transferred to another person if necessary. Exceptions to the no-refund policy are made if a registered attendee has a serious health incident that prevents attendance. What if I am on dialysis?

On-site dialysis is not available. Please contact your dialysis center directly for assistance in scheduling your dialysis treatments and review our list of dialysis centers close to the hotel. If you do in-home dialysis you can bring your supplies with you or ship them to the hotel. Please contact the hotel for information about shipping to the hotel. If you have additional questions, email us or call 800-753-2873.

Is there a parking fee at the hotel?

The Wyndham San Diego Bayside offers convenient guest parking for $32 per night or $15 per day and valet parking for $40 per night or $20 per day.

Who should attend the 2020 PKD Connect Conference?

The 2020 PKD Connect Conference is developed for PKD patients, parents of children who have PKD, and caregivers.

  • PKD patients will learn about each stage of the disease from top researchers and physicians, learn about new advancements in science and research, and connect with others who live with PKD.
  • Parents of children with PKD will learn more about the disease and how to manage it from expert physicians and researchers; hear about new developments in research and medicine; and receive support from other parents of children with PKD.
  • Caregivers will learn how to support their loved ones while continuing to take care of their own physical and emotional health. Specific sessions and topics for caregivers are available.
How do I register for the 2020 PKD Connect Conference?

What meals are included with my registration?

Your registration fee includes dinner on Friday evening, lunch on Saturday, and brunch on Sunday. All other meals are at your leisure.

What is the dress code?

Comfortable, casual clothes are suggested. Dress in layers as meeting rooms can sometimes be cold.

Does the hotel provide transportation to/from the airport?

The Wyndham San Diego Bayside offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the San Diego International Airport. The free shuttle operates daily, running every 15 minutes from 5 – 9 a.m. and every 30 minutes from 9 a.m. – midnight.

Can I earn CME credit for attending in the 2020 PKD Connect Conference?

The 2020 PKD Connect Conference does not offer CME credit.
