Our Chief Scientific Officer talks about the clinical study process including how clinical studies are designed and how enrollment decisions are made. Originally aired: July 2016
To support work being done to find treatments and a cure, we have awarded 15 research grants to PKD researchers. We will spend nearly $2.4 million over the next two years (2014-16) on these grants.
Bradley Yoder, Ph.D., discusses the results of his recently completed PKD Foundation-funded project “In vivo analysis of cilia mechanosensation in the kidney.”
Drug repurposing is the process of developing new uses for existing drugs or drug candidates. This takes advantage of work that has been done for a different treatment use, thereby decreasing development costs and time to launch.
Our tissue donation program provides patients with an avenue to contribute to the advancement of our understanding of PKD. We coordinate donations of discarded PKD kidneys to research labs across the country.
Follow the timeline of research accomplishments due to PKD Foundation funding and involvement.
Without participation in research, medical breakthroughs cannot happen and new therapies cannot be approved for patient use.
Hear from PKD Foundation Chief Scientific Officer David Baron, Ph.D. as he uses his decades of experience in drug development to explain the process as it relates to PKD.
Hear from our new Chief Scientific Officer David Baron, Ph.D., who is also a PKD patient.
