A sauce can truly make a dish–it can add depth of flavor, a zing of zest, and tie a plate together. When you whip up Fresh Tzatziki from our cookbook, Cooking Well, you can serve it up with fresh vegetables for a snack, use it as a dressing for salad or as a spread for a sandwich, all while keeping your flavors fresh:
- 1 large cucumber, peeled and neatly chopped
- 1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
- 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
- 4 large cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Pinch of salt
- Combine all ingredients in bowl.
- Let stand for 20 minutes.
