I found out I had PKD when I went in to be tested for kidney stones 25 years ago. When I got the results, I was shocked. I've been pretty lucky through the years. I have an awesome kidney specialist at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, and I just take it one day at a time. I’ve always taken care of my body, and I'm going to be 70 years old next June. I stay away from sugar, and drink lots of water daily. I’m currently at stage 3. Not sure what tomorrow will bring, but whatever happens, I’m just blessed for each day I’m here on this beautiful planet. The PKD Foundation has supported me along my PKD journey by helping me understand and learn about this disease. It helps me stay focused and gives me hope that someday they'll be a cure, if not in my lifetime, then for others.
