I’m Oscar, a San Francisco native and ADPKD patient dedicated to helping our community navigate this journey with confidence and clarity.
I believe this is an incredibly optimistic time for those of us living with PKD. Through the Foundation’s work with local legislators, we are making strides in strengthening living donor protections and increasing federal research funding. Combined with the groundbreaking advancements in biotechnology — many of which are led by pioneering teams right here in the Bay Area — we have more tools than ever to change the narrative of this disease. We’re looking forward to providing deeper dives into these developments, as well as more general PKD educational opportunities, during the quarterly meetings hosted for our local SF community.
I’m a proponent of proactive lifestyle change as a means of staying on top of PKD symptoms and slowing cyst growth. I enjoy competing in triathlons, cooking, creating electronic music, and practicing Spanish in my free time!
Looking forward to meeting and being a resource for you as we navigate this journey together.
