Living Donor Protection Act of 2021 (S. 377/H.R. 1255)
This bill has been introduced in both the House (H.R. 1255) and the Senate (S. 377); its purpose is to remove barriers to living kidney donation. It will do this in a number of ways including:
- Covering living donors under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
- Prohibiting living donors from being denied coverage for life, disability, and long-term care insurance, and protecting against increased premiums
Take action: Educate your members of Congress about the need to protect living donors and ask them to cosponsor this important legislation.
