This year, over 114 advocates participated in our in-person and virtual Advocacy Days, holding 147 meetings with lawmakers—a record for both meetings and participation.
Advocates united to push for:
- Continued inclusion of PKD in the Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP)
- Passage of the Living Donor Protection Act (LDPA)
- Passage of the Living Organ Donor Tax Credit Act
We were also proud to honor PKD Foundation Congressional Staffers of the Year, Mark Dreiling and Matthew Duglin, for their outstanding leadership in championing the LDPA. Thanks to their efforts, the Senate HELP Committee voted to advance the LDPA for consideration and passage by the full Senate in the coming months.
This legislation has been a longstanding priority for the Foundation, and we are thrilled to see significant bipartisan progress toward this commonsense reform that will protect living donors.
Through the dedication of advocates, staff, and supporters, the PKD Foundation continues to move research forward, protect living donors, and strengthen support for families affected by PKD.
